This policy explains how personal data is handled when you visit spacewhy.dev, download our Mac apps from it, or email us. Our apps have their own privacy policies: Terra Adventure, Steer, and Sweep.

No cookies or tracking

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics, ads, or tracking tools. Fonts, images, and App Store badges load from this website itself, not from third-party servers.

Hosting

Two providers deliver this website:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. sits in front of the website and passes your requests to it. Cloudflare protects the site from attacks and hides our email address from spam bots. If a page fails to load, your browser may send a short error report to Cloudflare.
  • GitHub, Inc. hosts the website files on GitHub Pages.

To deliver the pages, these providers process your IP address, the page you request, the time of the request, and the browser information that your browser sends. GitHub logs IP addresses for security. We use these providers because of our legitimate interest in running a website that is reliable and secure. The providers keep these logs for a limited time under their own policies. We do not get these logs.

App downloads

The direct downloads of Steer and Sweep are files on GitHub Releases. When you click a download button, your browser connects to GitHub, which processes your IP address and browser information to deliver the file. GitHub shows us only the total number of downloads for each file, not who downloaded it. The legal basis is the same as for hosting.

Links to other websites

Links to the App Store and other websites take you to services that we do not control. Their own privacy policies apply once you open them.

Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and we use it only to reply to you. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages sent to spacewhy.dev addresses to our mailbox. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your message. If your message is about using one of our apps, the basis is the steps you ask us to take. We delete emails when we no longer need them to help you, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Transfers outside the EU

Cloudflare and GitHub are based in the United States and may process your data there. Both take part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognizes as providing adequate protection.
